Starburst Burst My Bubble!

Well what a botch job that was. I hate to whinge about BB, really I do. I love this show more than any other reality show on the market, but seriously, sometimes the producers make it very hard to like!! I'm putting it down to more "fodder". Fillers for the 7.30pm timeslot. A yawnathon at best

So we have yet another HM. Great, just what we needed. NOT! But at least we have the token gay guy now. BB would not be complete without a rainbow representative.

Nick is the latest contestant to enter the fray and the poor sucka was not given a very warm welcome at all. He seemed in shock actually, but then I guess if he'd been watching at home it would be a little surreal to suddenly find yourself in the BB house. Thankfully he seems like he'll speak his mind and wasn't really backwards in coming forwards with the other HM's. EG, he told Emma she looked like a stripper and therefore would call her Stripper from now on, and when Rebecca told him she didn't like confrontation he replied; "That's a shame because I do". W00t! Lets hope he sets the cat amongst the pigeons in there. It's getting a bit dull, and I for one am over the whole Bodie/TJ thing. I stil want to keep her in there because it looks like she's setting her sights on Zoran now, but Bodie really has to go.

So, I thought it would be a good time to look at all the HM's and give my two cents worth on them, seeing as how we've had a few weeks to get to know them.

I've split the groups up into the ones I like, the one's I don't like and those I could give a shit about. It's not sup rising that most of the HM's fit into the last category.

The ones I like-

Well, pretty small group this one. There's TJ, Joel and Demet.

The reason I like TJ is well documented in this blog. However,I think if I knew her in real life, we would definitely come to blows. She has the most appalling lack of self esteem and seeks outside validation. Something I can not stand in others. She is also hypocritical, two faced and mentally unstable!! Last night she said something very interesting to Zoran, she said that in the NT she is "The cream of the crop", apparently there aren't many good looking girls there and she can have her pick of the available men. Coming into the BB house, she suddenly found that she was "below average" and she's not used to that. She desperately thrives for male attention to make her feel better about herself, and even if that means she is used and abused, then she'll cop that as long as she gets some attention.
The reason I like her is because you never know what she is going to do or say next. I love how unpredictable she is, and ther ability to fly off the handle at any moment. She is keeping everyone on their toes in that house and we need to keep her there. I think if Bodie goes this weekend, she'll set her sights on Zoran, and that will make for some interesting viewing. Zoran was telling her last night that she deserves better, and should just totally ignore Bodie. He seems to like her as well, and they could make a very fiery pair.

In regards to the game, she's got no chance of winning this. She's starting to get on the voting public's nerves (if the official and unofficial forums are correct) and her only redeeming feature is the effect she has on those around her.
Is she "playing the game"? I don't think so. I think she is incapable of being that strategic simply because she has such a hot temper and runs off at the mouth without thinking.

Joel- This is a weird one for me. He's a young Liberal after all and I was quite prepared not to like him :P But he is funny as fuck! They don't show enough of him on the daily show at all, but on the live streams he has the HM's in stitches on a regular basis. He really has only shown one side to his personality though, and for this reason he could be "playing the game". There has to be more depth to him..........well I hope so, because so far he ain't showing it!! He hasn't annoyed me, he brings some colour to the house, and he's a favourite amongst most of the HM's.
I was really surprised to hear Kate speak of her dislike for him on the nomination show and her statement that he was actually quite nasty in his humour. I haven't seen it, and so far, I think he's good value.
Will he win it? I don't think so, but he will get far as I don't seem him getting nominated too often.

Demet- I like this girl! She's hasn't revealed too much about herself yet but I could watch her belly dance all day!! She seems to be hanging out in the "nerd" camp most of the time, and she has had some good one on one conversations with Rebecca and Jamie that lead me to believe she has much to contribute. She seems to be biting her tongue a little, but I really believe she will come out of her shell more and more as the days go on, and really add some flavour to the house. Playing the game? Nope. Not at all. I get the impression that winning isn't a factor for her at all, and she's just there to enjoy the ride.
Will she win it? Hard to say, she doesn't seem to have any firm support at the moment but the real test of that will be shown when she's nominated. I don't think she'll win but she's another one that will come close.

The ones I loathe and despise-

Bodie- Where do I begin? He's a user, he's shallow, immature, dim witted, childish, self absorbed, selfish and very fucking annoying to watch and listen to. The way he has treated TJ is unforgivable. As much as she has let him behave the way he has towards her, the very fact that he would have sex with her one night, ignore her the next and then put her down in front of the whole group, proves what an arsehole he is. He sucks the life out of every situation he's involved in. It's all about "memememe" with him, he's all about looking after number 1 and everyone else can go to hell.
He's boorish! His humour is lame and puerile. He reminds me of the annoying younger brother of a close friend. Someone who always has to be center stage, and you have to tolerate for the friendship, but hate being around.
I really think he'll go this week and it will come as a complete shock to him. Being the famewhore he is, he acts as if the camera's are there solely for him. It wouldn't cross his mind for one second that people would not be enjoying him and revelling in all that he is. How could people not love him?
Playing the game? Trying to. Badly. I'm sure the whole TJ thing is as much for his own sexual gratification and ego as it is strategy. He's watched the show before, he knows "couples" work. He fails to notice however, that what he is doing isn't being part of a couple, it's being a user, and he is very transparent. Even the teeny girls can see this (again check the forums) he is quickly losing popularity and it's all his own doing. He won't win, he won't even come close. DICKHEAD.

Emma-
She is a fembot! A bitchy one at that. She has the heart of an ice princess, totally lacking in empathy and with no redeeming qualities bar her ability to "tell it like it is". Well her version of how it is, in relation to how it effects her.
She is the type of shallow troll who walks into a room, sums up the people in it within seconds according to appearances, decides whether or not you look like the type of person she would allow to bask in her essence, and if you measure up, she'll let you into her circle, on the proviso that you continue to worship her and agree with everything she says.
If not, you will not be given the time of day. Your very existence will be dismissed in a blast of icy cold air from her freezing heart.
She's not playing the game at all in my opinion, and if she's trying to, she'd doing rather poorly. I really believe she could care less who she offends or steps on, and even winning a cool mill would mean nothing to her if it meant she had to associate with people lesser than her to get it.
The first time she is up for eviction. She'll be gone, and good riddance too.
She seems totally devoid of any humane qualities. A mere shell of a person. Fake, plastic, and untouchable.

Hayley And Andrew- I really liked them as individuals when they first went into the house. He seemed like the quintessential 'nice guy' and she appeared to be friendly and genuine. Since the whole love triangle fiasco, they've morphed into this smug, self satisfied, superior couple who act like their combined "awesomeness" makes them some kind of super duo.
They exposed themselves as blatant game players, who are in this purely for the money, and this aspect of them has not been shown on the daily show at all. If you watch the feeds you'd see how they often talk about the "exposure" they're getting, camera angles, who is being focused on this week, etc etc, and while there is nothing wrong in being in this for the money, it's a game show after all, it just makes them hard to warm too because, for me anyway, I'm left with the feeling they're being fake and posturing. I've heard Hayley say twice now "We should just go" when she's having one of her famous crying fits, and both times Andrew has told her to "focus on the goal". I feel they have certain motivations behind everything they say and do and therefore I feel like I'm watching a pair of actors. I can't warm to them at all.

They're very competitive. Hayley especially, and they have the potential to go far in this game because of their tenacity. They're both long time BB fans, they know this game, and if they can keep a lid on their superiority complex, and Hayley's fake tears, I'm tipping them to go close to the end.
They have a distinct advantage over the other HM's, merely due to them being a strong unit, their support for each other is unwavering and in a house full of strangers, that's a huge advantage.

Rebecca-
I just can't warm to her at all. I think the reason for me is that she just trys too hard! She is another one desperate for people to like her. She is constantly telling everyone how nice she is and what a good person she is. I'm sorry, if you are all those things, people will see that, you wouldn't have to constantly shove it down peoples throats. Just this morning Rebecca was telling the story of a lady she knows who said Rebecca was "A fallen Angel, sent to earth to help others" Whaaaaaaaaat??? I'm sure she is being genuine, and there is nothing fake or phony about her, but she just doesn't do it for me. She is annoying to watch and listen to, and just gets on my friggin nerves!!
If she would relax, and just let relationships evolve instead of chasing people to have deep and meaningful conversations with her, maybe she wouldn't be so stressed and maybe she would be more entertaining.
Playing the game? No chance. Will she win? Highly doubt it.

Billy-
Mr nothing. He gives us nothing! Once the love triangle was outed, he retreated into his shell and hasn't emerged since. No wonder he didn't make it into Big Brother all those times he auditioned. He's dull, boring and brings absolutely NOTHING to the house.
Playing the game- No. I don't think he could be bothered. Will he win? If everyone else drops dead from a mystery illness, maybe.

HM's I Don't Give A Rats About-

Aleisha-
She's Emma puppy dog. End of story. Boring, unintelligent, gives nothing to the group dynamic except being the 'yes girl' for Emma. Playing the game- I don't think she's smart enough. Will she win? She may pull a 'Reggie' out of the hat, but I doubt it.

Susannah-
So dissapointed with this one. She really doesn't have a lot to say for herself, and I don't feel like I know her any better now than when she first went in the house. Playing the game? Could be doing the whole 'flying under the radar'. Will she win? Nope. Can't see it.

Thomas-
How wishy washy is this guy? He's too "nice" and duller than dishwater. For someone his age and life experience he really doesn't add much to the house. Playing the game? I think he's playing his cards very close to his chest but I don't think he'll win.

Travis-
He's just a "good guy". The Aussie larrikin type, but not entertaining at all really. Very one dimensional at this stage. Playing the game? No, doesn't appear to have it in him. Could he win? Yes he could. If he avoids noms long enough, he could be rewarded for his "Aussie nice guy" persona.

Zoran-
Just starting to come out of his shell, but not doing it for me yet. I don't think he's very strategic at all, and doesn't have a strong enough personality to pull off the win.

Jamie-
Sooooo disappointed with this one. I wanted him to be my fave but he's just coasting along with the other 'nerds'. Has had one or two funny moments, but hasn't really added anything to the house. Playing the game? No. Can't see it. Could he win? If he gets through to the end he's in with a chance.

Nick-
Too soon to make a judgement on him one way or the other. He's got a huge advantage over the others as he's been watching them for weeks. Will he use that information? I hope so. Could he win? Hard to say.

So that's my opinion thus far. Feel free to disagree or add your own two cents.

I'm tipping TJ and Bodie to share the eviction stage this weekend, and the house to become uber boring after that.
