Nominations last night and BB decided to mix it up a little. He decided that since there had been so much colluding and forbidden noms talk in the house, the HM's would only be allowed to nominate for strategic reasons. IE, they had to nominate who they thought were their biggest threats.
It went down like this;
Zoran
2 points: “Travis.” He said that everyone got on with Travis because he was an “all-round good bloke”.
1 point: Andrew. Zoran said Andrew was a competitive player in Friday Night Games and was helpful in the House and seen as a father figure.
Joel
2 points: “Travis.” Joel claimed he was the most genuine guy in the House. He added that people understood Travis more than they did him and that would create a threat to him winning.
1 point: Aleisha. “She is seen as everyone’s little sister. She’s bubbly and her personality will get everyone up in circumstances when everyone is down. … People love to have her around.” He said that her personality was really needed in the House.
Billy
2 points: “My biggest threat is Travis. I feel Travis is very well-liked in the group.” He added that being a genuine family man made him a big threat and that everyone wanted to see him win BB.
1 point: Andrew. “To date, he’s been the most competitive in Friday Night Games.” Billy explained that constantly winning was allowing Andrew to better control the BB game.
Laura
2 points: “For me at the moment, I think my biggest threat would be Daniela.” She said the two were compared as Intruders and Daniela was currently making her look like the “worst” Intruder.
1 point: Emma. She explained that Emma was very influential in the House and had the ability to sway opinion about her.
Emma
2 points: “Daniela.” She said that coming in as an Intruder gave her a massive advantage and she worried that the fact Daniela had selected a few people to befriend immediately had given her an advantage Emma wasn’t aware of.
1 point: “Jamie.” Emma said he had been up a few times and hadn’t been voted out. She added that his reading of body language and strategising made him a threat to her. Emma said she was more opinionated than Jamie while he stayed quiet, which could perhaps make him more liked by the public.
Andrew
2 points: Daniela. He listed similar examples to Emma, explaining that because Daniela had viewed the show before entering the House, she would have a huge advantage.
1 point: Jamie. “Jamie has a very strategic mind. He has formulas.” Andrew said that it was suspicious that someone had formulas if they were not trying to play the game and his formulas gave him an advantage in the House.
Rebecca
2 points: Rebecca nominated Emma. She explained that Emma’s alliances made her feel like she was on the “out” and Emma’s comments influenced other people’s opinions of her in the House.
1 point: Travis. “He gets along with everybody in here.” Rebecca added he was a wonderful person and would be someone that would probably not be voted for, as no one would want him to leave.
Travis
2 points: Thomas. He said Thomas was known as the “Ultimate Human” and was always “happy and cheery.” Travis explained he found tonight’s Nominations difficult because he had told BB he would never vote strategically. He added that he was “pretty bloody ordinary looking” compared to the other HMs and Thomas was a good looking man, which people might like.
1 point: “Zoran seems to keep dodging bullets … he’s got an invisible shield around him.” Travis even showed BB a small rock wrapped in glad wrap, his prop this week to demonstrate Zoran’s “invisibility shield.” He said Zoran could dance, sing and entertain people, making him a threat in the House.
Daniela
2 points: Travis. “He’s got the type of personality that Australia could fall in love with.” She called Travis “true blue”. She said most blokes could relate to Travis, more so than herself.
1 point: Andrew, “Because of the way he sits within the House.” She said Andrew liked to be in control and be the “leader of his pack.” Daniela said she didn’t believe Andrew would be put up for Nomination often, making him a threat to her. She struggled to further explain her point, until BB finally said, “Accepted… just.”
Jamie
2 points: Emma. “She has been up for Nomination five times and every time, she’s survived.” Jamie added that he couldn’t beat her at Friday Night Games and that superficial people would like Emma better as she had “big boobs and blonde hair.” “I’m just some normal looking guy,” he claimed. BB reminded Jamie he had nominated Emma five times before and never for strategy and Jamie said it was a “coincidence”.
1 point: Aleisha. Jamie told BB she was well-liked and had yet to be Nominated. “She’s more likely to make it to the end than me Big Brother. … I can’t see myself there with her.”
Aleisha
2 points: A sad Aleisha said, “Travis. … I think that he’s a genuine, awesome guy. I can’t fault him in any way and I just think Australia will see that as well.” She added that Travis always went about things the right way.
1 point: Joel. “He is extremely funny and brings out the positive happiness in my personality. … He’s bringing out the chirpiness in everyone.”
Thomas
2 points: “Travis. I think he’s honest, genuine and would appeal to a huge amount of people out there. He knows who he is - he knows what he likes and doesn’t like.”
1 point: Andrew. “Very much the same reasons as Travis. Bit more of a thinker but everything he does in this House seems to be the right thing.”
At the end of the vote casting, Travis, Daniela, Emma, Aleisha, Andrew, Jamie, Thomas were all up for Nomination. But of course, Billy still had to exercise his Twist.
An amused Billy looked at the seven HMs up for Nomination and the few he had left to possibly include, before making his way to the Diary Room. He unsurprisingly chose Aleisha to stay because they were “close” and he felt she “had a lot more to offer.”
Billy then selected Rebecca to be up for Eviction, explaining he didn’t get along with her as well as other HMs.
The final HMs up for Nomination are Rebecca, Travis, Daniela, Emma, Andrew, Jamie and Thomas.
There were no real surprises there. The only thing of interest was once again certain housemates voting exactly the same way. BB really needs to address this. Emma, Aleisha and Billy were caught talking in code again this week and nothing was done except for a pitiful little fine.
The WTF part of this post, is the fact that yet more intruders are going into the house on Sunday. Why?
One can only conclude that the current hm's are just not cutting the mustard. Obviously, ratings are down and the producers are clutching at straws now, hoping an influx of new people will improve matters.
At this late stage, I really don't think it's going to work. I think the reverse may very well happen and more people will turn off. There are just too many people in the house, and the end seems very, VERY far away.
Also from last nights show, Laura has found herself in a little bit of a conundrum. In bitching to Emma about Daniella and Andrew, she had hoped to score points and be included in the A-team. She used the only power or influence she had, which was the currency of gossip and backstabbing, to worm her way into Emma's cold heart.
Bit mistake!
A mistake she soon realised for herself when she later regretted her actions, as she discovered she didn't really want to be in that group after all.
You can't blame the girl for trying to find a place in the house where she could blend in, unfortunately she picked the wrong person. Emma has bitched mercilessly about her behind her back and will never accept her into the inner sanctum of the A-team.
Emma thrives on drama and conflict, she totally blew out of proportion the info Laura gave her, and by stating to Andrew, "I'm not trying to stir the pot....BUT" she once again lit the fuse on a little time bomb in the house.
Despite all this, I want Emma to survive this eviction. I want her to have a false sense of security and gain even more confidence in her Alpha female role, so that when she finally does get evicted, it will be by an all time record amount of votes.
However, I'm pretty confidant she will be evicted this week, and the best form of torture for her would be if Rebecca goes with her. Can you imagine?
Muahahaha!
I don't think that will be the case though, I think more than likely it will be Andrew or Jamie that gets to leave with her. Time will tell.
I'm rapidly losing interest in this series and it's breaking my heart!
I've noticed a few BB blogs have packed up and evicted themselves, but not I. I'm hanging in there till the bitter end. Even if it kills me. Luckily for you, I'm dumb enough to see this thing through, I hope you hang in there too. It's gotta get better, Right?........Right!!!!

Im so glad you are staying to see the series thru... Your blog is more entertaining than the show... so it's a community service you are providing!
Hey Steph,
More intruders? Daniela and Laura didn't add much to the house...why would the producers think two more will make any difference? I think the issue with intruders is that it is so hard for them to win and so hard for them to fit in that they try so hard not to step on anyone's toes, in general. If they want to spice up the house, they should find an overly confrontational person, tell them that they can't win the series or be evicted (so that they don't care about trying to fit in), and drop them in there to raise some hell.
And what was with nominating 'by strategy' last night? Don't they generally nominate by strategy each week? Sure, some of the more popular housemates got nominated last night, but the new nominating rule didn't do anything to break group allegiances. If they were serious about breaking up group allegiances, they should have pulled out the old twist from seasons ago where they ask them to nominate who they would keep in the house, and then put those people up for nomination.
It seems to me that the producers are once again going out of their way to try to eliminate the 'nice people' from the house because they are also the 'boring people'. With each passing season of BB, we get the website and presenters (Gretel, Mike etc) telling the audience to keep the people who are interesting (eg. Bodie and TJ) and vote out the boring people (eg. Hayley and Andrew). And it never works. And the most simple reason is that the majority of the viewing audience doesn't want to reward someone like Bodie or Emma with a million (or half a million) dollars. Steph, I know you are a big supporter of keeping the interesting people in the house, but you are unfortunately in the minority. I think the only solution is to completely scrap prizemoney. I'm sure there would be no shortage of 'famewhores' still audtitioning for BB if they took this step.
luckyluke
Bearlulubrooks, Oh I like you, you can come back again ;)
Luckyluke, I agree with you on some things, especially about the intruders, but the whole "punishing" vote is just wrong.
I hate Emma, I really do, but she makes me FEEL something! Yes, it's hate, but it's better than nothing, and that's what the rest of the HM's make me feel. Complete apathy!
Every good story needs a villian. Without her, the show is going become one big snooze-athon.
Do YOU want to watch Rebecca and Jamie for the next month?
I don't.
I'll be spending big bucks of my employers money to keep Emma in there. ;)
The house is so boring now. I think Emma is the only one in the house not crying every second day. Although i've got everything crossed that someone will break her, please God someone break her!!!
what little of BB i actually did watch, now has turned into nothing. I no longer watch it, and just read you to find out all the important stuff.
My husband now says to me "What did Steph think about that?" lol.... you're famous in my house ;)
Please don't get me wrong Steph, I agree with you that Emma (for example) needs to stay in the house for as long as possible as the show desperately needs those big personalities. I totally know where you are coming from.
All I am saying is that I think the majority of the voters don't want to keep people like Emma and Bodie around because if either of them won, it would be an endorsement of their personality. Look, personally, I don't think any of the contestants deserve the prizemoney on offer (it's a large amount for doing nothing...other than perhaps giving up their privacy), but if I was voting on who should get it (and for the record I have never gone to the trouble of voting to save or evict anybody), I would like to see it go to somebody who was at least a decent person.
But I think you are completely right in who you generally choose to save and evict because you are trying to keep the show interesting. And, at the end of the day, if the show loses it's appeal (and ratings), it will be cancelled long before it can give out any prizemoney!
I'm with you, you are my fav part of BB this season :-)
Briony, Wouldn't that be awesome! If one of the new intruders really takes her on and leaves her in a crying heap.
Hayley, Aww bless ya! Tell your husband to read me himself. I need the hits ;)
luckyluke, I know what you're saying. I see it on the forum every day and I know I'm in the minority. It's so frustrating because the same people who are bleating for the head of Emma, will be the same one's complaining how boring the show is once she's gone.
Well, MORE boring anyway.
LisaJane, Thanks hun! It's nice to know people are actually reading my dribble.
If I was BB I would make Travis dress in Khaki and run around saying CRIKEY!
