Gretel, I used to adore you. I've defended you on the forums for SIX years! I've been flamed, howled down, abused and vilified for my Gretel love, and I won't do it anymore. I shall not defend you for another second cos woman, you have lost the fucking plot!
What the hell was your problem with Jamie? Yeah, he's not cool, he's a bit of a knob, and he talked a bit of smack in the house, but you were positively cringeworthy tonight. You attacked the poor lad, and made him and yourself look foolish. At least he had the good grace to smile through it and proclaim that he was "only joking" in some of his answers, YOU came off as a bitter, twisted, grumpy old cow!
Your body language, your sneering smile, your condescending tone, it all was just AWFUL to watch.
Granted, Jamie didn't add much to the house and I doubt anyone will even notice he's gone, but that is no excuse for your pathetic display tonight.
It's painfully obvious that you're over it. It's time to hand over the role to Mikey and go back to writing children's books and appearing on panels with other menopausal, cranky old women.

In other news- I'm sure you all caught up with the Aleisha/Michelle war. I've stated my opinion on Michelle in posts below so I won't go there again. The only thing I will say about it is that she has guaranteed her eviction, and if she hadn't have sprouted horns, she could possibly have made it to the final three. DUMBARSE!!
The other big news to come out of tonight's show was the revelation that we the viewers will be able to nominate tomorrow. WhackO, yet more BB revenue raising. Speaking of that, have you seen the new game on UPLATE? Those fuckers have copied the other late night quiz shows and you no longer are guaranteed a cool grand when you get through, oh no, now you have to play the stupid "Tower of Power" and have a chance to get $250!!!
What a fucking rort! A few weeks ago Mikey (hi Mike) was bagging the shit out of those other Quiz shows, and now he's joined the scourge.

Hmmm, I must disagree with you again Steph.
I was more shocked at what a phoney Jamie was. I can't believe I felt sorry for him! He was no wallflower: he was cynically playing a role to win the jackpot.
Jamie's hyperactive onstage performance DEMANDED Gretel's derision. She scratched an itch that was screaming for attention, and I for one was very satisfied indeed to see Jamie's composure almost crack.
Bkeela, I agree with you to a point. I think he was acting a tad over the top tonight, but Gretel's sneering face and bitchy tone just put me right off.
She's been narky for WEEKS now, and i'm over it.
oh god, exactly! I, like you Steph, have been a huge G supporter over the years, even defending her to anyone who would listen - but this season she's been a complete dickhead.
I support her going off at those housemates who deserve (ie: Ben from BB03 and Jo from the same series) it but when she does it to housemates who were basically pretty nice people (even if they were annoying as hell like Jamie) well, it's not on.
Even though I think there is something very, very off with Jamie (retarded puppy?) he was still basically a nice housemate who never did anyone any harm. If she was going to confront him on his 'game playing' then she could have at least balanced it out by 'celebrating his time in the house' like she does with everyone else - (even if they are a sexually harassing bunch of freaks like a couple of housemates I could mention). You'd think he'd have murdered her whole family by the way she cold shouldered him tonight.
Yet again she's only being nice to the people she
a) wishes she was friends with in high school
b) would shag.
The tower game is ATROCIOUS - at least Quizmania is funny when you're drunk - I can't even say the same for BB Uplate at the moment.
Remember when uplate was a cool show to watch because Mike was witty and they actually showed the housemates? Ahhh, those were the days.
Keep in mind that Jamie is a Karaoke host who is used to talking to the crowd. That and a combination of absolute adrenaline and nerves is what I contribute to his behaviour.
Gretel, on the other hand, was cringe worthy. "That was from the first week and YOU KNOW IT!"
Wow ... I would have been scared to discuss the next 12 with her, when she starts off like that.
I couldn't figure what was wrong with her face and decided it was botox. But it's not. Because she was able to crinkle up her forehead for effect. So, Steph, I'll have to agree. It was just a very 'over it' sneering look, permanently plastered on.
Maybe Gretel has heard that her contract won't be renewed and has been narky because of that. Frankly I've always found her to be condescending and phoney.
I'm glad I turned off the TV just after Jamie strutted down the walkway. I have never been able to stand those eviction interviews as Gretel NEVER asks the questions that I think the audience wants. The only decent interview was when Merlin did his silent protest a few years back and only then for the comic value. To her credit Gretel handled that one well.
It's the instant evil look she gets on her face whenever the word editing is used. Who does she think she's kidding????? I'm def restraining myself at how hateful I felt during the show last night..

My malice towards Gretel is nothing compared to her complete disdain towards mostly male housmates, her behaviour last night,
(as is the case on many eviction nights involving males)was a repugnant and deliberate attempt at elevating her pathetic ego/celebrity status.
Her behaviour last night was the worst I've seen by her this season so far,
I'm not a Jamie fan by no stretch,
but her ability to host in an objective, impartial, or unbiased way, is non-existent.
It's time to go Gretel.
Uplates 'Tower of Power' is yet another desperate money-grab attempt.
The screen real estate it takes up, is almost 50%, and Mikey cutting away from the house as often as he does, makes the premium live stream
more informative than what he can deliver on his show.
In summary.
Uplate = late night quiz show with glimpses of the house.
Could't agree with you more Steph. I've never been much of a "Ghastly Gretel" fan (incidentally, I only started using that phrase to offset Ridge Rogue over at BB Chaose, who calls her Gorgeous Gretel), but this year she's gone from bad to worse. The way she reacted to Jamie last night was COMPLETELY uncalled for.
Granted, he was acting hypo like a kid with too much red cordial, but that's really no cause to give him the public pillory. It's almost as if the more 'harmless' and innefectual the HM's have been this year, the more Gretski has torn into them.
Clearly, it's high time the producers do what the fans have been calling for for years, and give MIKEY the full-time hosting gig.

Damn Gretel! Y'know, when BB first started back in 2001, I HATED Gretel. A friend and I even made a "WE HATE GRETEL" webpage, because.. well, we were losers. Anyway. I was dismayed to find that she was growing on me over the years... this year is the first I've watched since 2004 though, and all my hatred has come back. What is up with her and people mentioning the "E" word?
If I was an editor for BB, I'd be insulted at her continuing to imply that my job doesn't exist! ;)

As you saw with my comment on the last post, "cunt" is the appropriate word and I never throw that around lightly.
I've loved her toeing the line and being in control and always asking the question we wanted to hear and calling their bluff when they answered badly. Jamie's eviction was just disgusting and cringeworthy.
All credit to Jamie. He's a dweeb and unfortunately when dweebs get excited (what were those weird jumps he was doing?) they absolutely go over the top (in my opinion. For people to criticise him of 'putting it on', well I disagree. He was like a kid in a candy store when he arrived, you just knew he'd be packing poo and busting at the seams when he left.
So in conclusion, I'd like to say that I'm 150% over Gretel. The public can see when someone is not into their job. She's like the sullen checkout chick at Coles who asks how you are and really doesn't give a fuck.
