Another One Bites The Dust

First Kris Noble gets his marching orders (and not before time I might add) and now Gretel Killeen gets the arse too.

This is a huge shock and has come totally out of the blue even though most fans have been calling for her head for a few years, nobody really believed that Gretski would be booted. She had become as much a part of the furniture of the show as the diary room chair and it's going to be a whole new experience watching the show without her.

It was plain to everybody that she was over the whole concept. She could hardly contain her disdain for the housemates and her contempt for the whole format. She looked tired and bored and the show suffered accordingly.

I was a very vocal critic of Gretel both on this blog and in the forums and it really pained me to do so, because I had been such a long time supporter of her. To me she was more important to the show than big brother himself, so to watch her decline, watch her in fact turn on the very show that made her famous and drag it down with her, was very disheartening.

But, the show will go on, and lets hope that next season is the one that turns it all around.

When Kris Noble was boned, SoutherStar Endemol and Channel Ten were sending a clear message that things will definitely be different next season, but the sacking of Killeen is a bold move and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Big Brother will be totally revamped in 2008.
One can only hope that with Channel Tens new HD network on cable television that Uncut will make a return to our screens, and that the "family friendly" tone it took last season will be done away with.
It should be a show about adults for adults and that should equate to a later time slot and less of the heavy censorship that has plagued the show till now.

The only question now is, who will host the show? Mike Goldman and Natalie Bassingthwaites names have been bandied about, as well as Kyle and Jackie-o. All I can say to all those options is, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING????

As much as I love Mike, he just won't be able to get to the "guts" of the HM's and I can't even imagine Natalie in this role. She was a wooden actress, she's an average singer and she has the personality of a wet sponge.
Kyle needs to be seen LESS on our TV screens and although i have no axe to grind with Jackie-o, I still don't see her having the sass or wit to carry such a huge role.

So, it is with heavy heart we say, "It's time to go.............Gretel" but it's with optimism that we look to the producers of Big Brother and hope that FINALLY they do right but their die hard fans and give us back the Big Brother we originally became addicted to.
